In 1970, Zan-e Rooz magazine organised a national beauty pageant in which, among numerous contestants, Sholeh Zand was crowned Dokhtareh Shayesteh Iran (Worthy Girl of Iran). Her victory embodied a modern generation of Iranian women who were becoming increasingly visible in public life and more actively connected to the wider world.

Soon after receiving her title, Sholeh represented Iran at the Miss International Teen Princess pageant, competing alongside participants from across the globe. Her appearance reflected Iran’s expanding cultural engagement and positioned her as a representative of the nation’s evolving identity on an international stage.

Beauty competitions of that era frequently functioned as platforms for cultural exchange, and Sholeh’s participation contributed meaningfully to that global dialogue.
