A Landmark Figure in the Modern History of Miss Iran

The Miss Iran 2018 competition marked a significant moment in the evolution of Iran’s modern pageant industry. Five years after the re-establishment of Miss Iran by Mr. George Clooney through IMAJH Ltd., the platform had attracted thousands of Iranian women, including national and international titleholders, finalists, and applicants, as well as a growing global audience. As the organization expanded its influence, it also faced increasing challenges, particularly due to Iran’s mandatory hijab laws, which created legal and operational pressures on participants and organizers. Despite these obstacles, the leadership of Mr. Clooney ensured the continuity and strengthening of the organization, reinforcing its presence and resilience during this period.

From hundreds of applicants, the top 10 finalists were selected by the IMAJH Ltd. team. Following a comprehensive evaluation process, the judging panel crowned Shirin Heidari as Miss Iran 2018. She holds a distinctive place in the pageant’s history as the first Miss Iran winner to be directly crowned by Mr. George Clooney, in Auckland, New Zealand. This ceremony became a memorable milestone for the organization, and her official photograph with him remains one of the defining images of that era.

Shirin Heidari was born in 1990 in Tehran, Iran, and at the time of her crowning, she was residing in Auckland, New Zealand. She pursued her higher education in Architecture and Engineering at the University of Auckland. Following her academic journey, she established a professional career in the technology sector and currently works as a software engineer. Beyond her professional background, Shirin maintains a wide range of personal interests, including reading, fitness training, yoga, dance, and fashion modeling. She is also actively engaged in sports such as swimming, gymnastics, basketball, and badminton, reflecting a strong commitment to an active and balanced lifestyle. Prior to her national title, she also gained pageant experience by participating in Miss National New Zealand in 2017.

Following her crowning as Miss Iran 2018, Shirin was also recognized as Miss Universe Iran 2018, becoming the third Iranian woman in history to hold this designation in the modern era. Prior to her, during the “Worthy Girls of Iran” era, Roya Rouhani Moghaddam (Worthy Girl of Iran 1972) and Sousan Hakima (Worthy Girl of Iran 1973) were recognized with similar titles, although neither competed at Miss Universe. Shirin’s selection represented a continuation of this legacy and highlighted the renewed international direction of the Iranian pageant movement. However, her participation at the Miss Universe competition did not proceed due to eligibility limitations, including age requirements and the inability to obtain official documentation.

Shirin has consistently expressed her belief in the Miss Iran platform as a space for empowerment and personal development for Iranian women. She views it as an opportunity for women to better understand their rights, build confidence, and shape stronger futures. In her perspective, empowered women contribute to stronger families and, ultimately, to a more progressive society.

Today, Shirin Heidari resides in Sydney, Australia, where she continues her professional career and maintains a successful and balanced lifestyle.

چهره‌ای شاخص در تاریخ معاصر میس ایران

مسابقه میس ایران ۱۳۹۷ نقطه عطفی مهم در روند شکل‌گیری و توسعه صنعت مدرن رقابت‌های زیبایی ایران به شمار می‌رود. پنج سال پس از بازراه‌اندازی میس ایران توسط آقای جرج کلونی از طریق شرکت ایماژ، این بستر توانست هزاران زن ایرانی، از جمله برندگان ملی و بین‌المللی، فینالیست‌ها و متقاضیان، و همچنین مخاطبان گسترده‌ای در سطح جهانی را به خود جذب کند. با گسترش فعالیت‌های این مجموعه، چالش‌هایی نیز به‌وجود آمد، به‌ویژه در ارتباط با قوانین اجباری حجاب در ایران که فشارهای حقوقی و اجرایی بر شرکت‌کنندگان و برگزارکنندگان وارد می‌کرد. با این حال، مدیریت این مجموعه توانست با حفظ انسجام و قدرت، مسیر فعالیت خود را ادامه داده و جایگاه آن را بیش از پیش تثبیت کند.

از میان صدها متقاضی، ۱۰ نفر برتر توسط تیم شرکت ایماژ انتخاب شدند و پس از یک فرآیند ارزیابی دقیق، هیئت داوران شیرین حیدری را به عنوان میس ایران ۱۳۹۷ برگزید. او جایگاهی ویژه در تاریخ این رقابت دارد، زیرا نخستین برنده‌ای است که مستقیماً توسط آقای جرج کلونی در شهر اوکلند نیوزیلند تاج‌گذاری شد. این مراسم به عنوان یکی از لحظات ماندگار در تاریخ این مجموعه شناخته می‌شود و تصویر رسمی او در کنار ایشان از تصاویر شاخص آن دوره به شمار می‌رود.

شیرین حیدری در سال ۱۳۶۹ در تهران، ایران متولد شد و در زمان انتخاب خود ساکن شهر اوکلند نیوزیلند بود. او تحصیلات عالی خود را در رشته‌های معماری و مهندسی در دانشگاه اوکلند به پایان رساند. پس از پایان تحصیلات، وارد حوزه فناوری شد و در حال حاضر به عنوان مهندس نرم‌افزار فعالیت می‌کند. در کنار فعالیت حرفه‌ای، او علایق متنوعی از جمله مطالعه، ورزش، یوگا، رقص و مدلینگ دارد. همچنین در رشته‌های ورزشی مختلفی مانند شنا، ژیمناستیک، بسکتبال و بدمینتون فعالیت داشته و سبک زندگی فعال و متعادلی را دنبال می‌کند. او پیش از کسب عنوان ملی، تجربه حضور در رقابت میس نشنال نیوزیلند در سال ۱۳۹۶ را نیز داشته است.

پس از کسب عنوان میس ایران ۱۳۹۷، شیرین حیدری به عنوان میس یونیورس ایران همان سال نیز معرفی شد و به سومین زن ایرانی در تاریخ تبدیل گردید که این عنوان را در دوره معاصر دریافت می‌کند. پیش از او، در دوره «دختران شایسته ایران»، رویا روحانی مقدم (دختر شایسته ایران ۱۳۵۱) و سوسن حکیمه (دختر شایسته ایران ۱۳۵۲) این جایگاه را داشتند، هرچند در رقابت جهانی شرکت نکردند. انتخاب شیرین حیدری ادامه‌ای بر این مسیر تاریخی بود و نشان‌دهنده جهت‌گیری بین‌المللی جدید این رقابت محسوب می‌شد. با این حال، حضور او در رقابت جهانی به دلیل محدودیت‌های سنی و عدم امکان دریافت مدارک رسمی مورد نیاز، محقق نشد.

شیرین حیدری همواره بر این باور بوده است که میس ایران بستری برای توانمندسازی و رشد فردی زنان ایرانی فراهم می‌کند. او این رقابت را فرصتی برای شناخت بهتر حقوق، افزایش اعتمادبه‌نفس و ساخت آینده‌ای قوی‌تر می‌داند. به باور او، زنان توانمند می‌توانند خانواده‌های قوی‌تری بسازند و در نهایت جامعه‌ای پیشرفته‌تر شکل دهند.

او در حال حاضر در سیدنی، استرالیا زندگی می‌کند و به فعالیت حرفه‌ای خود ادامه می‌دهد و زندگی موفق و متعادلی را دنبال می‌کند.
