In 1968, Iran’s national beauty pageant was organized by Zan-e Rooz magazine, one of the most influential women’s publications of its time. That same year, 15-year-old Elaheh Azodi was crowned Dokhtareh Shayesteh Iran (Worthy Girl of Iran).
