In 1971, Mahvash Sobhi, a 17-year-old high school student from Tehran, entered the national beauty pageant. Competing against numerous contestants from across the country, she was crowned Dokhtareh Shayesteh Iran (Worthy Girl of Iran). Following her victory, she was prominently featured in Zan-e Rooz magazine, one of Iran’s leading publications of the era, which highlighted her achievement and introduced her to a national audience.

That same year, Mahvash represented Iran at the Miss International Teen Princess pageant, competing alongside delegates from various countries. Although she did not place among the top finalists, her participation affirmed Iran’s presence on the international stage during a dynamic period of global pageantry.

After her pageant career, Mahvash pursued higher education, earning a degree in business. She continued her studies at an English-language institution before relocating to the United States to further advance her academic and professional aspirations.
