Jewel of Iran 1992
Pioneering Iranian Beauty Abroad
Niousha Nafaei Jamali was born in Tehran, Iran, and later immigrated to the United States, where she pursued her education and career in dance. She became a recognized figure in the Iranian-American pageant community after winning the title of “Negin Iran 1993” in a competition held in California, featuring Iranian women living in the U.S. The event was attended by several well-known Iranian figures and was hosted by the famous Iranian singer Aref. Niousha’s success highlighted the beauty and talent of Iranian women on an international stage during a time when beauty pageants were banned in Iran following the 1979 Islamic Revolution. Her achievement contributed to increased visibility for Iranian women in global competitions and served as an inspiration within the Iranian diaspora community.
